Failed bomb attack in Times Square

FBI spokesman on PBS News tonight described the result as a victory for brilliant surveillance on the part of the FBI and the CIA. And now for the truth. The bomb failed to explode. Had the bomb exploded dozens, maybe hundreds of people would have been killed and injured. The FBI and CIA knew nothing about the attempt until a hot-dog operator phoned the police.

Despite being on the US no-fly list, the bomber strolled straight through airport security and onto his plane. Just minutes away from take off, someone did notice the error and alerted the authorities. The plane's take-off  was halted and the bomber was arrested. The only person entitled to any credit here is whoever it was noticed the bungle.

Instead of patting each other on the back, FBI and CIA agents should be kicking each other up the arse.
